Assessment & Reporting

The Kingsway School believes that the partnership between home and school is an important aspect in helping the individual student to learn and achieve. Good and regular communication between these partners is therefore vital.

We have identified, as a major priority, the enhancement of student performance. The reporting of all aspects of student performance to parents is an important element of this. Therefore, parents/guardians will receive monitoring data once a term.


In Years 7, 8 and 9 the following will take place:

  • Attitude to learning scores for all subjects - three times per year

  • End of year exam results

  • Judgements against subject ‘can do’ lists - once a year


In Year 10 the following will take place:

Each term parents/guardians will receive:

  • Target grades/numbers for each subject

  • Working at grades/numbers for each subject

  • Attitude to learning scores for all subjects

  • In addition, in the summer term parents will receive their pre-public examination results


In Year 11 the following will take place:

In the autumn and spring terms parents/guardians will receive:

  • Target grades/numbers for each subject

  • Projected grades/numbers for each subject

  • Attitude to learning scores for all subjects

  • In addition, in the spring term parents will also receive their pre-public examination results for the December exams and for the February/March exams.


Parents' Evenings

These will provide the opportunity to discuss with class teachers progress made in individual subjects.
